Our links

As a church we have links with other charities and organisations involved in a variety of local, national and international initiatives. Every year we give 10% of our income to these partners. Many of these links have come about because of personal contacts with people involved in these projects, or people affected by the work they do. Find out more about our links below…

Christian Aid is an international development charity. They work with people, of all faiths and none, in around 50 countries, to eradicate poverty. www.christianaid.org.uk

Rett UK Rett Syndrome is a severe, lifelong neurological disorder. Rett UK strive to support families by providing support, information and practical help. Our link to Rett UK is through a member of the church who has Rett Syndrome. www.rettuk.org

Overseas Mission Fellowship serves the church and seeks to share the Christian faith with all the peoples of East Asia; through projects such as church planting, missional business, student work and medical practices. We support Peter and Ronate Yonge who were previously part of our parish, and are now based in Hanamaki in Japan. www.omf.org

Barnabas Fund supports Christians where they are in a minority and suffer discrimination, oppression and persecution as a consequence of their faith. www.barnabasfund.org

Church Army are a mission-focused community of people who are transforming lives and communities through the work of evangelists, staff and supporters. They are committed to sharing the Christian faith through words and action in a variety of contexts across the British Isles. www.churcharmy.org.uk

Bible Society make Scriptures available where there are none. They work to help the church engage with the Bible more effectively. And they endeavour – through the arts, education, media and politics – to make the Bible available, accessible and credible in our culture. www.biblesociety.org.uk

Lee Oasis is a local project distributing clothes, baby goods and white goods to people in need. Lee Oasis also run a weekly drop in at the URC Church on Burnt Ash Road. www.leeoasis.org.uk 

Shelter campaigns to end homelessness and bad housing. It gives advice, information and advocacy to people in need, and tackles the root causes of bad housing by lobbying government and local authorities for new laws and policies to improve the lives of homeless and badly housed people. www.shelter.org.uk

XLP  is a London based charity at the cutting edge of urban youth work in the UK. XLP works to create positive futures for young people.
